Teacher’s Day Celebration

Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a great Scholar and Philosopher of India. He was the second President of India. He was born on 5th September,1888 in Tamilnadu. In his honor his birthday is celebrated as Teacher’s Day. Dr.Radhakrishnan was an outstanding educationalist and a profound scholar of India as well as Western Philosophy.

His lectures on worl religions were memorable. In 1949, he was appointed as the Ambassador of India to Russia. Later, he become the Vice President of India and continued till 1962. Therefore he become the President of India till 1967. The Queen of Britain conferred on him honorary memebership of the “Order of the Merit”. His life was a real embodiment of the principle of simple living and high thinking. He was conferred “Bharat Ratna” in 1975.
